Golden Mickeys Stage Show Now Playing Aboard

The most technically sophisticated stage show at sea, The Golden Mickeys, is the newest performance in the line-up of original Disney musicals aboard the Disney Cruise Line®. Now playing aboard the Disney Wonder and coming soon to the Disney Magic, The Golden Mickeys combines live-action theatre with film, video, music and colorful pyrotechnics in a toe-tapping salute to Walt Disney and his legacy of classic animated films. This new, character-filled, musical review uses all the glitz and glamour of an awards show to honor the wonderful animated films and characters that have filled our lives for over 75 years. As if attending a distinguished Hollywood awards show, guests entering the 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre are treated as celebrities and given red carpet treatment lined with "paparazzi." Based on the tremendous success of last month's Pin Cruise, Disney Cruise Line has announced plans for another Pin Cruise next fall. The cruise will again be for 4 nights, and will take place November 16 - 20, 2003. The pin package, included in the overall price of last month's cruise was $25 per person. Although there has been no announcement as to the cost of next year's pin package, we do have cruise costs excluding the pin event fee, and will be able to reserve your stateroom now. The pin package will be added to your reservation when pricing becomes available. As always, you will have the opportunity to cancel your cruise and receive a full refund at any time up until 60 days prior to sailing (in this case, September 17).

Pricing for outsides and verandahs remains unchanged from the last cruise. Category 11, Standard Insides, and Category 10, Deluxe Insides, have gone up by $30 per person (1st and 2nd passengers), or $60 per stateroom. We strongly recommend that anyone wanting an inside stateroom book the Category 10, as the premium over the Category 11 amounts to only $80 per stateroom, in total over the four nights. In addition to another 30 square feet of space, the Category 10 has a second bathroom.

After considering the $100 per stateroom group discount we are offering, pricing for the 1st and 2nd passengers in each stateroom, including port taxes and government fees but excluding tips, is as follows:

Disney Cruiseline cancels Nov. 30 sailing of the Disney Magic
 

Here's an update from Disney Cruise Line President Matt Ouimet regarding Disney's response to continuing flu-like symptoms experienced by some guests and Crew Members aboard the Disney Magic.

At Disney Cruise Line, the health and welfare of our guests and crew are our highest priorities.
With this in mind, and recognizing that we're continuing to see an unusually high number of guests experiencing flu-like symptoms aboard the Disney Magic, we have decided to cancel the ship's Nov. 30 seven-night sailing.

We have been communicating with the Centers for Disease control in Atlanta and other experts throughout the past several days, and based on the collective advice of all, we believe this is the best decision given the circumstances.

Experts tell us that this seven-day hiatus, along with additional sanitation procedures that aren't possible for a ship in operation, will provide the best opportunity to eliminate this concern going forward.

The Disney Magic will continue to sail her planned itinerary this week, returning to Port Canaveral on Saturday morning (Nov. 30). We feel that this is the right decision, because more than 95 percent of the ship's guests remain healthy, and by all accounts, they're having a wonderful time. We have offered to fly home guests who have become ill, and so far, only one couple has taken us up on that offer.

We are making this decision today to provide as much notice as possible to those guests who were scheduled to depart on No. 30. As a precaution, we already had personally contacted most guests booked on the upcoming cruise and asked them to check-in with us on a regular basis via a toll-free phone number (1-866-724-5325), which we established specifically to give them up-to-date information no matter where they're spending their holiday weekend.

We're now in the process of contacting each of these guests directly. Guests booked on the Nov. 30 voyage who haven't heard from us yet are welcome to call us at 1-866-784-1597. Each of the guests booked on the Nov. 30 voyage will receive a full refund, as well as a 50 percent discount on a future cruise.

I understand that this will disappoint many families who were planning to vacation with us this week, but we feel that this is the right thing to do given the continuing circumstances.
