Your Gifts Were Needed
And Appreciated
As Theodore will tell you about the Dec.24th party
at the Children's Hospital, I would like to take a moment and say a few words.
As Christmas is upon us, we think of all the
wonderful things that happened in our lives over the years. We have celebrated
many joyous times and we have been so blessed to have met all the new friends
that this pin collecting hobby has brought us. This year as a world, we have had
some very difficult times to overcome. We still struggle to make sense of what
has taken place over the past months. Many people are in need this year. So when
I asked you to donate toys to children, I never imagined how much you would be
helping out these kids. When Theodore and I went to the children's hospital on
Dec.18th, I walked in and asked how many toys they had this year for the
children. I was told "we don't know what we will do we haven't enough toys for
all our kids". I then took them to my van, opened the doors and showed them all
of your donations. They couldn't believe their eyes. As we began to unload my
van they thanked me, I stopped them and told them I was only delivering these
toys and the toys were from the generous readers of Dizneypins.com. They wanted
to thank you all for your gifts and asked us to return on Dec.24 for the
hospital's Christmas party so you could see how you made many children smile.
This children's hospital normally has about 120-150 kids in the hospital at
Christmas, but as this is the time of year for miracles, I was told today over
half were able to go home for Christmas.
For all of you I would like to personally thank you for this selfless effort on
your part to donate these toys and I wish you all the safest and happiest
holiday season.

Now on with Theodore telling you about the hospital's Christmas Party.
Hi everyone, as we drove to see the kids
this morning I was thinking how good it felt to be a part of making kids smile.
We got to the hospital just in time to see Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive, Larry
had told me about this jolly man but I had never met him before. As I was
smiling at the sight of Santa I looked around and saw all the kids smiling and
had a twinkle in their eyes. Santa was able to talk to most of the kids hearing
what they wanted for Christmas. Santa and Mrs. Claus gave them candy canes and
some presents.
Then out on the lawn arose such a clatter.. wait it wasn't the reindeer
it was the Rough Riders of Tampa. The Rough Riders are a Tampa social and
service club that has been around since the famous Tampa visit of Teddy
Roosevelt's original Rough Riders. Well guess what they had for the kids? Teddy
bears, not as cute as I am but the kids loved them.
One of the Rough Rider came up to me and asked who I was going
to be given to... Now wait a minute.. I couldn't believe he didn't know me, but
I explain to him who I was. Once he knew who I was he wanted to get a picture
with Santa and I and I thought that was ok.
The kids had a craft area where they were decorating ornaments
for the Christmas tree and they did a great job.
I couldn't believe the smiles of the kids faces, I have seen
this before at Walt Disney World when kids see my buddy Mickey Mouse for the
first time. I hope from my little eyes you are able to see just how much one
little toy helps, one toy times all of you great people added up to a happier
Christmas for these kids. So don't let anyone tell you that one by one we can't
make a difference.
Thank you ALL
Happy Holidays
Love Theodore
