will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Disney's
Wide World of Sports® Complex.
This Olympic Themed afternoon will feature the following:

Important program notes**:
Guests must stop at the D-Sports merchandise location first to obtain a
wristband. This wristband will only allow Guests to gain entrance into the
Sports Complex at 11:00 am.
If a Guest arrives prior to the 11:00 am opening, please be advised that she or
he may be standing outside in the elements.
New Limited Editions pins will go on sale in the Clubhouse starting a 11:00 am.*
Gold Medallist Sheila Taomina will be available for autographs in the Disney Pin

This Limited Edition Jumbo pin-on-pin features Minnie Mouse competing in the

Several Olympic athletes will make special appearances this Summer 2004 as part

Walt Disney World Resort Salutes U.S. Olympic Team With a Commemorative Pin
Event at Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Pin trading is a both an Olympic and Disney tradition, and with the 2004 Olympic
Games right around the corner, Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating with
special commemorative Olympic pins and an all-new Olympic themed pin event at
Downtown Disney Marketplace.
In conjunction with the United States Olympic Committee's (USOC) exclusive pin
licensee, Aminco International, a collection of pins and pin accessories
featuring the world-famous Disney characters supporting the U.S. Olympic Team
will be released during a 8-week long event beginning July 3, 2004. In total,
more then 50 Olympic-inspired pins -- many of them limited edition pins -- will
be released throughout the celebration. Disney's Pin Traders at Downtown Disney
Marketplace will be the central location for all Olympic-inspired pin activity.
Guests purchasing these special pins will help support the U.S. athletes as they
prepare and travel to Athens for this year's Olympic Games.
On select days throughout the event, current and former U.S. Olympians will be
at Downtown Disney Marketplace to meet with guests, sign autographs and pose for
pictures. Guests can also catch a glimpse of a real Olympic medal, as Olympians
will bring their medals with them to Disney's Pin Traders. Athletes are
scheduled to appear between 1-4 p.m. on the following dates:
Bob Beamon (July 3) - Won gold medal and set long-jump world record at the 1968
Olympics in Mexico City. His jump of 29 feet, 2 ˝ inches was a world-record
until 1991.
Sheila Taormina (July 10) - Current member of the U.S. Olympic team competing in
the Triathlon. Taormina won a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Games and recently
won the 2004 International Triathlon Union World Championship in Portugal.
Dennis Mitchell (July 17) - Won the gold medal in the 4x100m relay and bronze
medal in the 100m at the 1992 Olympic Games. Won a silver medal in the 4x100m in
the 1996 Games.
Dot Richardson (July 31) - Won a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Games as a
member of the U.S.A. Softball Team. Richardson will be commentating for Softball
during the 2004 Olympic Games on NBC.
The Olympic themed pin event will culminate with a one-day pin extravaganza at
Disney's Wide World of Sport complex on August 14.

Jodie Benson sang about an hour at Grandest Opening
Taste of Downtown Disney was awesome about 10 different restaurants served many
special foods. DVC made sure bottled water was everywhere since the temps were
in the mid to upper 90's all 3 days.. I bet I drank $60 worth of Disney priced
bottled water over 3 days.
All in all I feel this Members Homecoming was well worth the $250. I actually
would pay that much for what we got at Magic Kingdom the second night..

Disney combine once again for Star Wars Weekends, scheduled for five consecutive

Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. have created event-exclusive Star Wars merchandise
