 Magic Kingdom Park debuts Sleeping Beauty pre-parade
 

In celebration of the Sept. 9 Special Edition Disney DVD and video release of Sleeping Beauty, the Magic Kingdom Park is hosting a special pre-parade now through Sept. 30.
This entertainment enhancement takes place at 2:45 p.m., prior to the Share A Dream Come True Parade, and leads the parade through the entire parade route.

The castle float features Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and Maleficent, as well as 10 young Guests selected each day to ride on the float as "honorary princesses of the Kingdom."

Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora escort the children, who wear princess hats and wave wands at onlooking Guests during the parade.

The children also get a certificate autographed by the Disney Princesses, and a set of Mickey Mouse ears embroidered with the words "honorary princess" and the child's name.

The pre-parade is replacing the regular Grand Marshal offering until Oct. 1.

"The parents are so excited," said Jennifer Benton, Parade Manager for Magic Kingdom Entertainment. "They follow the float throughout the entire parade to get pictures from every angle."
