Well now as the 2002 holidays are now over I hope to get back to our  normal 2 week reports. Now this report is long with many pins and some exclusive information only found here, that is until you read it.
In the next 2 weeks many pins will be released at WDW.

On Jan. 24th WDW started the Surprise Pin Program again.
Get those phone groups lined up.
This pin was released on Jan. 24th exclusively at the Villains shop at MGM. This pin is a LE 1000 and sold for $10.50

Jan. 26th a Super Sunday LE 2500 pin selling for $10.50 will be released at the major pin locations.

Jan. 28th you will find a Flying Figment  LE 3000 pin selling for $8.50 being released exclusively at Epcot.

Jan. 29th the 2003- a magical place to be, Princess LE 3500 pin selling for $10.50 pin will be released at the major pin locations at WDW.

Feb. 1st will be a very busy day being released is the Chinese New Years LE 2000 pin selling for $8.50

Also the Sweetheart Series 2003 Valentines pins all are LE 3000 selling for $10.50 each

Still Being released on Feb. 1st you can find this open edition Valentines pin selling for $6.50

Along with those pins another set called The Princess Pairs Series features the Disney Princesses paired with their Princes each is an open edition selling for $8.50


And yet the 2nd in a series of 12 of the 75 Years of Mickey Pin of the Month LE 3000 selling for $12.50
(Pin measures approximately 2-3/8" x 2". The pin with detachable easel measures approximately 2-3/8" x 3-1/4".)

With the 15th anniversary of Roger Rabbit WDW has these 2 open edition pins on Feb. 1st both selling for $6.50. Let's hope we see more of these characters with the release of the Movie to DVD for the first time in March 2003

Now if that is not enough Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World will be hosting the Parti Gras Pin Event
Public day for any non-event exclusive merchandise will be sold Feb. 2 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at Island Mercantile at Animal Kingdom  
Residual Event Product will be available on a first come, first-served basis beginning at Park Open on Sunday, February 2, 2003. MICKEY'S PARTI GRAS! Event guests will have exclusive opportunity to purchase any remaining product from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. Park Day guests may purchase Event product beginning at 10:00 am. Theme Park admission is required.

On Feb. 2nd you can find Ground Hogs Day LE 2500 pin selling for $10.50


Feb. 5th celebrate Peter Pan's 50th Anniversary with this LE 3500 pin selling for $10.50


 Cast Members will have the first of the 2003 Cast Pin Blast's February 6, 2003 at Mickey's Retreat*!
The White Rabbit will clock in that day as the first pin to be released in the new "Backstage Pass" Series, a new line of limited edition pins created specially for Cast Members!

On Feb. 6th you should find the Saludos Amigos 60th Anniversary LE 3500 selling for $10.50

Feb. 14th is Valentines day with 10different "Your secret admirer" pins being released. Each Valentine's Day pin is featured on a gift card that you can sign and give as a gift to your Valentine. 2 cards with pin will be released at each of these locations: Epcot, Magic Kingdom, MGM, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. Each card is a LE 1500 and sells for $8.50
The pins on each card are being kept a secret until Feb. 14th

Also on Feb. 14th is the release to theater the long awaited Jungle Book 2 and WDW will have a LE 2000 Opening Day pin selling for $10.50

Feb. 15th you can find the 2nd in the 50th Tinker Bell LE 5000 pin. This pin is a rectangle Cloisonné pin with an artwork drawing of Tinker Bell very much different than the first one.

Also on Feb. 15th an Annual Passholder pin LE 7500 will be released, this new series for 2003 will follow the 75 Years of Mickey theme. In 2003 besides the quarterly annual passholder pins you will also be seeing park exclusive annual passholder pins.

Now that's alot of pins, so now lets talk about some events and things you can start to look forward to.
Feb. 28th is the 1st of the Mickey's Super Star Trading Team Events. This first event will be hosted at Downtown Disney. WDW will have 6 of these events in 2003, Feb. March, April, May, July, Aug. Each event will have this open edition logo pin

 which will only be sold on that day and then pulled until the next event. Also you will find 4 LE pins being released at each event. Each pin will be pin trading oriented. All events will be held at a WDW resort so no admission or cost for these events to attend. The 6 pin events will each be a part of a pin event.
Event 1 will be registration with the theme of the pins being the princesses greeting and registering you.

Event 2 will be the Super Star's. These pins will be the smaller characters from Disney. Event 3 will be the Kid's Trading Zone with the theme of the pins using the Kid's of Disney. Event 4 will be Artists signings. Event 5 will be a different theme "sharks". These events are to focus on pin trading. Each event will have different trading areas for the different stages of pin traders.. Kids, beginners, advanced.. these events sound like alot of fun for everyone.

WDW will be having a new exciting experience just for kids starting mid March 2003. Across property you will be finding Cast Members wearing a Kelly Green Lanyard with a special hang tag and special pins just for kids. Only kids will be allowed to trade from these lanyards.

June 14th will be the next Big pin event "Mickey's Toon Town of Pins" at
Magic Kingdom. This event looks to be an under $50 pin event and will having Mickey going to all corners of Magic Kingdom to gather the best things to have a grand pin event in Toon Town. This will be a morning event.

In the second part of 2003 you will see the 2003 Cast Lanyard Series 2. These pins will be done in a similar way to the 2002 cast lanyard pins, but released only a few at a time.

We hear the Sept. Pin Event hosted by Epcot will be a 3 day event Sept. 19-21 and will be more exclusive for those who pay the pin event fee.

Nov. 16-20 you can join Disney and your fellow Pin collectors on the 3rd Disney Pin Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. The pin event fee has been set at $35.00 and Dizneypins.com/Allseastravel.com is once again offering a great deal with our group to go. Get prices Click here

You might be wondering since in 2002 the Guest Continuing The Tradition pin started being released in early January 2002. Well I am here to tell you YES you will see a 2003 Guest Continuing The Tradition pin. No major details are known at this time but it is hoped you will start seeing them in the next few months..

As always Disney can change any event or pin release at any time.

With all the changes going on at WDW I am hoping I am back to doing this article on a regular basis. We will even tell you the dates for the 2003 Pin Events later in this article.

In the next week Disney will be releasing more exciting news about the Nov. 17th- 21st Pin Cruise..

November seems to be gearing up to be a big month.
Nov. 1 WDW will be offering the 11th in the series of the Animation Legends Pin. This pin is Aurora LE 5000 selling for $12.50

Nov. 7th you will find the 10th (single pin) in the series of the "Walt With" pin. This one will be "Walt With Archimedes" from Sword and the Stone. LE 5000 and selling for 10.50.

Also on Nov. 7th you can get yet another Figment pin . This one is a LE 3000 selling for 10.50 and has Figment on a rocking horse.

We were told that the Festival of Masters Art Festival at Downtown Disney from Nov. 8-10th will have 3 pins. Like last year one will be a passholder exclusive pin.

ABC's Super Soap Weekend will be Nov. 9-10 held at Disney's MGM and should have pins.

WDW will be getting you ready for the release of "Treasure Planet". WDW will be releasing 5 new open edition pins for this movie. Each pin will be selling for $6.50


Can you believe Aladdin is 10 years old? Well WDW will have a LE 5000 Aladdin 10th pin which will sell for $10.50 and will be released on Nov. 11th.


If you have not looked around property,  we will tell you the "75 years of Mickey" merchandise is showing up. We know around Nov. 12th you will find a open edition pin selling for $8.50 which is the first of many "75 Years of Mickey" pin to be released.


For those of you who fly into Orlando Airport on Nov. 15th you will find a Disney Earport Opening Day pin. This pin will be a LE 2000 selling for $10.50. This pin is to commemorate the opening of this store at Orlando Airport. This pin will be a airplane with a trailing banner.


On Nov. 27th "Treasure Planet" will be opening in movie theaters and WDW will have a LE 2000 opening day pin selling for $12.50.

Thanksgiving Day 2002 Nov. 28th WDW will have 4 special Thanksgiving Day pins for you. Each are LE 3500 and selling for $10.50. One of these pins is the Norman Rockwell take off , Thanksgiving Dinner with Mickey & Minnie.

Hanukkah pins will be released on Nov. 29th. There will be 3 pins, Goofy LE 2000, Mickey LE 2000 and The Fab 5 LE 3000 all selling for $8.50

During the month of November WDW guests will find  the Princess Castle Series. These will be open edition and sell for $8.50.
NOTE: Pictures shown are from Disneyland but we are told WDW's will be very similar.

This month you can also find the long awaited "Best Friends" pins. These pins were announced to be released early in 2002. These pin will be Pooh & Piglet, Eeyore & Tigger, Donald & Daisy and Chip & Dale. Each pin will have a banner at lower part of pin which says "Best Friends", all be open edition and selling for $8.50.

Other open edition pin scheduled to be released in Nov. are Tower of Terror Goofy, Disney Free-D, Minnie Cheer Bobblehead, Walt Quote #15 and I am sure a few surprises also.

As Christmas is drawing near we have something for you to think about. The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party held at Magic Kingdom has 12 dates for this private party, 12 days, 12 pins? I was told WDW has thought about those of us who will not go each night.. More news to come soon on this one.

We are told the Sept. Pin Event will be a Fri./ Sat./Sunday, but no  date was given yet.

Also in 2003 you will be able to have a few other pin trading experiences. These will be called "Mickey's Superstar Trading Team". We are told these will be a free event which will focus on pin trading and at this happening you could see 4 or 5 pins being released. All of these events will be held at WDW Resorts so no admission is required to join in on the fun.
